WTF Blanket.

So, today I had a good laugh at a video I watched on youtube called the WTF blanket. (which heather showed me :P, which will be posted on the bottom of the page.) It basically is making fun of a snuggie.. which really isn't a blanket, it's more like a backwards house coat. In the commercials they have actors (who are really grand at their job :|)making it look so difficult to wear a blanket, which is why the sunggie is so AMAZING ..

My grandparents saw the commercial when it came on, and that christmas I got a snuggie. Not that I don't like the gift, but I personally think the thing is so ridiculous. I just wear it as a normal blanket and ignore the sleeves. I ignore them because either my arms are super short or the sleeves are just gigantic and I can't even get my hands out of them which makes the entire thing ... completely pointless.

Today television is promoting these pointless products and making it seem like our life would be d r a s t i c a l l y different if we just bought this amazing product. For instance the slap chop, "making people skinny one slap at a time!" If people want to be skinnier, why can't they just cut their vegetables the normal way. (It would burn more calories, therefore making you just as skinny as if you bought the slap chop :O !) Like the snuggie, my grandparents bought one for my mom for christmas .. the thing is legit GARBAGE. It can barely cut anything. It is just sitting in the top of my cup board collecting dust.

To get to my real point: why are people so gullible and buy these products that are shown on tv? Most of the products don't even work, and most of the people know that.. but yet people are still buying them. WHY ?

Lets talk smack.

As you stroll the halls of Park Street, you hear the ramblings of people as you walk by. Most talk at a normal level, discussing issues or what happened on the weekend and what not, but sometimes you walk past those people who insist on letting everyone know what is going on with them. The ones who if they're having a bad day need to scream and yell down the hall and be incredibly immature.

For example, I'm not going to name names, but here's an example. I was walking down the hall coming back from one of my classes and as I past this girl, who I'm guessing was having the worst day ever because someone was talking to her and all of a sudden she just started screaming at the top of her lungs "F**K OFF ! I'M NOT IN A GOOD MOOD ! DON'T TALK TO ME !". Oh boo hoo, other people have bad days and you don't see them screaming down the halls and carrying on like someone is going to murder them.

As I begin to think about this, I just wonder why is it with this generation that we need to make everything known to everybody, and almost like we need to document everything that we do. As the teacher from the movie Easy A would say "I don't know what your generation's fascination is with documenting your every thought... but I can assure you, they're not all diamonds. "Roman is having an OK day, and bought a Coke Zero at the gas station. Raise the roof." Who gives a rat's ass?" Those are my thoughts exactly :)

Take Facebook and Twitter, most of us use them, but some people insist on putting everything about their day on these websites where everyone can see. Nothing is private on these websites, sure you can have privacy settings on but other people can still read what you've written. Also once you post something on the internet, it is there forever. I think if you really need to let out something that is going on, write it down somewhere private, because once its out there you can never take it back. Just like this post.
