a post dedicated to my grandparents .. ♥

In just 10 short days my grandparents will be taking a journey to retire literally half way across the country. It is weird because I have never been more than like 2 hours away from them. But although I will miss them a lot, I wish them the best of luck. I found this poem on a website, and I really liked it.

Grandparents Love
Author: Unknown
It seems like only yesterday
Our lives were just beginning.
Your love for us never failed,
Our hearts continually mending.

It is strange to watch the time fly
Before our very eyes,
Which reminds me of the blessing,
That we have you in our lives.

To have yet to feel the touch
That's as gentle as your hand
The closeness of our family
One could never understand.

As each of our lives
Continue to change,
Reflections of your love
In each of us remains.

You have pointed out the path
And led us along the way;
The wisdom you have planted,
We each still hold today.

You sheltered us through childhood
And saw us through today,
Taught us of the Lord above,
About faith, and how to pray.

One day we'll all be in heaven
Dancing on the throne,
Praising God for giving us
A family like we've never known.

No matter where our lives may go,
We will trust the Lord above
And through it all always thank him
For our grandparents love.

summer 2011 bucket list. 1/10

Soo, summer 2011 is here and I am determined to make it as interesting and as fun as I possibly can. So far I have only completed 1 thing on my bucket list and I am determined to complete the entire thing by September ! :)

SUMMER 2011 BUCKET LIST:
1.go camping
2.go rock climbing
3.conquer fear of heights
4.get another tattoo/piercing
5.win a trophy racing
6.sing in a public place
7.take atleast 300 pictures
8.have all school situations worked out
9.road trip
10.complete bucket list !

So, like I've said I have only completed 1 thing on my list so far and that was camping, now I can cross off 1 thing on my list. ... yeah not so sure I will ever go again, I'm not much of a sleeping outside kind of a person. Also the first and only time I go camping, I manage to sprain my foot and pull legiments and couldn't walk for over a week! I'm hoping that in the future my other items on my bucket list aren't going to be as painful.

i got bored camping :|

a ferocious cat-flower.

Lately I have been writing poetry. So far it has been all really in depth things, and serious issues, and I thought it would be cool to finally write something that more suites my personality:). Most of the time you can not take a lot of what I say seriously, I am just not a serious person. So here's a little poem for youuu.
It's called ...

a ferocious cat flower

I am a dandy lion
hear me rawr
my seeds go everywhere
watch them soar

Quote Of The Day.

"Life is like a puzzle that you have to put together all by yourself. You're born with the outside edges of it, and you're left to figure out the pieces in the middle."

My Fears ...

Have you ever though about what you fear the most? I did this last night, and I realized, some of the things I am afraid of are completely rediculous.

Here are my top fears:
1. Birds - they freak me out so badly, it's probably because I was chased by a swan when I was younger because I threw french fries at it... Birds are not the word.
2. Burps - I find it disgusting ... Although everyone obviously does it. My fear is not of the burp itself, but I can't be around someone who does it because I'm scared I will breathe it in.

3. Lakes/ Fish - I can't swim in deep lakes becuase I'm afraid of what might be at the bottom of it, mainly because I watched Jaws when I was really little, which leads me to my next fear

4. Sharks - I am terrified of sharks, not that anyone really likes them. But just like watching Jaws or any other movie in the ocean makes me literally start shaking.

5. The Dark - I am so afraid with the dark I have to sleep with my TV on, and have my basement light on so that it isn't dark outside of my room, this is also probably because I watched way to many movies when I was younger :P

6.Heights - I also have a huge fear of heights. I can't explain it but I just am. But I love rollercoasters and stuff like that but I hate having to go up the hill at the beginning.
7. Thunderstorms/ The Weather - My fear of thunderstorms kind of links back to my fear of the dark, my fear comes from the lights being shut off because of thunderstorms or like extreme weather, it just freaks me out.

8. Public Speaking - I get so afraid to speak infront of people it is rediculous. I shake, and have trouble actually speaking, and sometimes, I tend to just break out and start laughing, its terrible.

30 hour famine.

The 30 Hour Famine was created to help raise awareness about hunger throughout the world. Every day hunger kills 8 000 kids under the age of 5. In general, it kills more than 24 000 people every day. A person dies every 10 seconds from hunger... it is 100% preventable ...We are the fortunate ones, not every counrty has clean water, food, shelter, money etc.

This was designed to help people raise awareness, fundraise and stop hunger throughout the world.

I am participating in the 30 hour famine. So far it is not too difficult, but I can almost garuntee you by this time tomorrow I will probably have wanted to quit a billion times. *But I won't* Everyone deserves to live a full life and not go to bed at night feeling weak and hungry, so let's stop an epidemic that was 100% preventable in the first place.

quote of the daaay.

"We tell lies when we are afraid... afraid of what we don't know, afraid of what others will think, afraid of what will be found out about us.  But every time we tell a lie, the thing that we fear grows stronger. "

                      *Tad Williams

I like this quote because it is so true. We lie because we are afraid, but then once we do, we become even more afraid that people will find out the truth.

WTF Blanket.

So, today I had a good laugh at a video I watched on youtube called the WTF blanket. (which heather showed me :P, which will be posted on the bottom of the page.) It basically is making fun of a snuggie.. which really isn't a blanket, it's more like a backwards house coat. In the commercials they have actors (who are really grand at their job :|)making it look so difficult to wear a blanket, which is why the sunggie is so AMAZING ..

My grandparents saw the commercial when it came on, and that christmas I got a snuggie. Not that I don't like the gift, but I personally think the thing is so ridiculous. I just wear it as a normal blanket and ignore the sleeves. I ignore them because either my arms are super short or the sleeves are just gigantic and I can't even get my hands out of them which makes the entire thing ... completely pointless.

Today television is promoting these pointless products and making it seem like our life would be d r a s t i c a l l y different if we just bought this amazing product. For instance the slap chop, "making people skinny one slap at a time!" If people want to be skinnier, why can't they just cut their vegetables the normal way. (It would burn more calories, therefore making you just as skinny as if you bought the slap chop :O !) Like the snuggie, my grandparents bought one for my mom for christmas .. the thing is legit GARBAGE. It can barely cut anything. It is just sitting in the top of my cup board collecting dust.

To get to my real point: why are people so gullible and buy these products that are shown on tv? Most of the products don't even work, and most of the people know that.. but yet people are still buying them. WHY ?

Lets talk smack.

As you stroll the halls of Park Street, you hear the ramblings of people as you walk by. Most talk at a normal level, discussing issues or what happened on the weekend and what not, but sometimes you walk past those people who insist on letting everyone know what is going on with them. The ones who if they're having a bad day need to scream and yell down the hall and be incredibly immature.

For example, I'm not going to name names, but here's an example. I was walking down the hall coming back from one of my classes and as I past this girl, who I'm guessing was having the worst day ever because someone was talking to her and all of a sudden she just started screaming at the top of her lungs "F**K OFF ! I'M NOT IN A GOOD MOOD ! DON'T TALK TO ME !". Oh boo hoo, other people have bad days and you don't see them screaming down the halls and carrying on like someone is going to murder them.

As I begin to think about this, I just wonder why is it with this generation that we need to make everything known to everybody, and almost like we need to document everything that we do. As the teacher from the movie Easy A would say "I don't know what your generation's fascination is with documenting your every thought... but I can assure you, they're not all diamonds. "Roman is having an OK day, and bought a Coke Zero at the gas station. Raise the roof." Who gives a rat's ass?" Those are my thoughts exactly :)

Take Facebook and Twitter, most of us use them, but some people insist on putting everything about their day on these websites where everyone can see. Nothing is private on these websites, sure you can have privacy settings on but other people can still read what you've written. Also once you post something on the internet, it is there forever. I think if you really need to let out something that is going on, write it down somewhere private, because once its out there you can never take it back. Just like this post.
